Goss and Gaughran Commemoration
Goss and Gaughran Commemoration in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk, Co Louth. Assemble at the Lisdoo Arms, Dundalk (Newry Road) at 2.30pm.
Richard Goss joined the North Louth Battalion of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) in 1933. In 1939 was appointed OC North Leinster-South Ulster Division of the IRA in preparation for a campaign against British forces in the Six Counties. He was finally captured and tried by the infamous ‘Military Court’ and executed by a Free State firing-squad in Portlaoise Prison on August 9, 1941.
Willie Gaughran, friend and comrade of Richard Goss, contracted TB while he was serving a 10-year sentence in Camphill Prison, Isle of Wight. He was released in 1946 and died in 1947.

Free Derry! Rally
Assemble at Guildhall at 3pm for picket and rally. Speakers from Republican Sinn Fein and the Martin Corey Campaign. Martin Corey is interned in Maghaberry jail, Co Antrim since 2010 without charge or trail.
Derry is an Irish City!
 
Saturday, August 24, 2013:
Picket at Jim Larkin statue in O’Connell Street, Dublin 12noon-2pm. Information leaflets will be distributed on Martin Corey and the POWs in Maghaberry jail.
 
Tuesday, August 27, 2013:
Remembering the Centenary of the 1913 Lockout in Wynn’s Hotel, Middle Abbey Street, Dublin at 7pm. Various speakers. Full details later. 
 
Saturday, August 31, 2013.
Annual H-Block Hunger Strike Commemoration in Bundoran, Co Donegal. Assemble at East End at 3pm. 
Remembering the 10 men who died on hunger strike in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh in 1981. We also remember the other 12 men who died on hunger strike in various jails since 1917 and those who died as a result of hunger strikes down the years.

Annual H-Block Hunger Strike Commemoration in Bundoran, Co Donegal. Assemble at East End at 3pm. 

Remembering the 10 men who died on hunger strike in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh in 1981. We also remember the other 12 men who died on hunger strike in various jails since 1917 and those who died as a result of hunger strikes down the years. 

 

Just a reminder that this is tomorrow folks and I hope to see as many of you there as possible.  There will be a draw that evening in support of the Republican Garden, tickets on sale now €2 each or a book of 3 for €5.
