  1. 2016 will see the centenary of the anti-imperialist rising of Irish republicans, revolutionaries, socialists and militant trade union activists against 800 years of Anglo-Norman, English and British occupation in Ireland. The reading of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic marks the initial point of the current phase of the national and social liberation struggle of the Republican Movement in Ireland. Yet 1916 remains unfinished business! The Republican Sinn Féin 1916 National Centenary Committee has been set up to make preparations to commemorate the events of 1916 in a decent and dignified way. Though the best way to commemorate the struggle of 1916 and the Proclamation of the Irish Republic is to join the struggle of Republican Sinn Féin and build the All-Ireland Republic proclaimed on Easter Week 1916! All events organised by the Republican Sinn Féin 1916 National Centenary Committee leading up to the centenary in 2016 will be announced on the new campaign-website http://1916centenary.rsf.ie/. Users will also find a wide range of historical information on the events of Easter Week 1916 and the revolutionary and pre-revolutionary period from 1913 to 1923.   2. The Irish Republican Alternative to the G8 Republican Sinn Féin will be holding an Irish Anti-Imperialist Forum as a counter to the G8 Summit in June. The Anti-Imperialist Forum/Republican Alternative to the G8 will take place in Belfast on June 14 and 15. The forum will discuss all aspects of imperialism both in terms of British imperialism in Ireland as well as the new imperialism of the EU, ECB and IMF as experienced by the people of the 26 Counties. Delegates from international anti-imperialist organisations will provide a world perspective. It is intended as a forum for political and community activists from throughout Ireland and abroad to discuss the various political, social and economic aspects of imperialism from both an Irish as well as an international perspective. Such a debate can be used to chart a way forward towards building an Irish and international alternative to the neo-liberal political and economic policies of the G8 and other trans global imperialist organisations.   3. Republican Sinn Féin will hold a White Line Picket as part of the programme of the Irish Anti-Imperialist Forum 2013. The White Line Picket is organized in support of the Republican POWs and to demand the immediate release of republican internee Martin Corey. Martin Corey is a Republican from Lurgan, Co. Armagh. He was sentenced to Life Imprisonment in December 1973. At that time he was only 19 years old. He was to spend the next 19 years of his life in jail until he was finally released without signing anything in June 1992. Without warning on April 16th 2010 he was taken back into custody. No Reason was given to Martin at the time or since his return to jail. The picket will be held on Friday, June 14, in West Belfast, Dunville Park at the junction of Springfield Road and Falls Road from 2pm to 3pm.
